What asshats. Automatix *does* break a lot of systems and it's well known that those guys don't want to aknowledge that, but saying that no bug reports will be accepted because someone in a certain channel points out the problem is just... well, it's not very user-friendly to put it politely. If they want to hack on their cool hacks, at least they shouldn't push said hacks on others. Especially since so many people think that Automatix == Ubuntu and it gives Ubuntu a bad name. i don't have a problem with them doing whatever either, but they should take responsibility.

People should stay well clear of Automatix if they don't know exactly what it's doing (in which case it's unnecessary anyways).

...there's a bug Ubuntu needs solved, the need for any Automatix alike stuff. Someone mark this Critical.

IMHO that attitude, as stated by previous poster, gives Ubuntu a bad name. :-( They could state that their hack doesn't break the system, and I believe it has been proved it does, but creating something to help people coming to Linux, pushing these hacks to them, then when they have some problem or system breakage and someone points them to the cause, they ignore them?! It looks to me they don't care about the other users as much as someone who created a tool to help newcomers getting started easier, should.
